About TeamAdvisor

From a very young age, I developed a powerful drive to follow my path. Looking back, it may have been a reaction — or perhaps even an overreaction to the dynamics of my immediate environment.

I grew up in a comfortable, middle-class home.

We weren’t wealthy, but we had everything we needed: good schooling, plentiful food, and family holidays. Yet despite this surface-level stability, one shadow darkened some otherwise sunny days: the unpredictable temperament of one of my parents.

I often felt like I was walking on eggshells. A single misstep could trigger a metaphorical explosion — fiery tempers and long, drawn-out periods of tension that could last for days or even weeks. The aftermath was often a storm of criticism directed at everyone and everything.

This environment shaped me deeply. I developed a strong need to make my own decisions, to chart my own course, and to preserve my personal freedom. It was never about disregarding authority for the sake of it. Rather, it was about respect, not for the position itself, but for the person holding it. Respect, in my view, must be earned. Trust became a core value for me, and I wanted to be left alone to do my work without interference.

After twelve years of running two veterinary practices in the UK, we sold the businesses and decided to start a new chapter in Australia.

The visa conditions, however, required that I be employed rather than self-employed. While we quickly fell in love with the Australian lifestyle, particularly the relaxed, "live and let live" attitude we found in Brisbane, I struggled deeply with the restrictions of employment.

Against all odds, we were eventually granted permanent residency. For the first time in seven years, I was free to work for myself again. I launched my own mobile veterinary business and, in doing so, reclaimed my sense of freedom.

The change was almost immediate. I shifted from survival mode to a thriving mindset. I felt more relaxed, more fulfilled, and genuinely happier in my work. Only then did I fully realise how much stress I had been carrying during the years I couldn’t be my own boss. There was a poor job fit between my personality and my role, which came with a price (not only to me, I'm sure).

This realisation, combined with my longstanding interest in management and team building (which I had developed while running my practices in the UK), sparked a new curiosity: How many others were silently struggling in their workplaces? After all, the veterinary profession has long been known for its distressing position among the top professions for suicide rates.

By what seemed like coincidence — or perhaps fate — I discovered personality profiling as a tool for recruitment and team management.

Suddenly, everything clicked.

I understood that I could help others in the workplace find their own sense of mental comfort and freedom. By helping organisations make better decisions about hiring and team management, I could help employees align with roles that suited their natural personalities, reducing stress and improving well-being, and by that, reducing burnout and staff turnover. A win-win situation.

This vision led to the creation of TeamAdvisor.

Today, I am driven by the mission to help organisations improve how they select and place employees, ensuring that individuals can work in roles that suit their personalities and reduce stress. In doing so, I hope to help people find the same sense of freedom and fulfilment that has been so important in my own journey.
